Infrared heat lamps are great for heating 24hrs but the biggest down fall is that some truly nocturnal species may not be active with the lights. They do give great muscle penetrating heat and help warming the ambient air temperatures.
These can be a great heat source for diurnal species (active during the day) as they may sleep in hides or less light might not disturb them.
The high wattage lights are best for very large enclosures and unfortunately there are not many other heating devices that will do the job as well as these. Also perfect for open air heating like for birds, chickens, piglets and puppies.
Look at other options like heat emitters and heat projectors for your nocturnal pets. They will be a lot more active at night which is more beneficial to their mental state. The visual light might be nice to view your animals but their well-being should come first.
The higher wattage of 175w and 250w are the Phillips brand while others are all Nomoy Pet.
Birds: Especially for the ones suffering from night fright, this is a good option.
